GEOMETRY WORKSHOP
“On the occasion of the cultural week of our centre and fulfilling one of the activities programmed in the Athens meeting last February, students of 3 ° C have developed a geometry activity.
By groups, they have built different polyhedra using plasticine and wooden sticks.
Each group has explained the constructed figures and, finally, they have completed an evaluation sheet.
The objectives of this activity are:
– Know and the different elements that make up the polyhedra (faces, edges, bases, vertices).
– Differentiate between prism and pyramid.
– Types of bonuses and pyramids.
– Work in a team building polyhedra.
There is no doubt that it has been a very instructive and entertaining activity.”
EXPERIMENTS STEP BY STEP: SCIENCE FOR EVERYONE
“Our students from the second grade (4th, 5th and 6th) have explained different experiments and experiences to our students of the first grade (1st, 2nd and 3rd) and to the children in kindergarten with 5 years old, from the EEI nº1 Paseo Rosales, who visited us.
It has been a very positive experience to have to explain and capture the attention of such a demanding audience, but it has been worthwhile, and they have done it phenomenally. In the end, everybody applauded.
Among other experiences, it has been explained concepts such as “liquid conductive vessels”, “the Pythagorean cup”, the “Lava Volcano”, “the painter pendulum”, “surprising chemical reactions”, etc.
